Documention, evaluation and maintanance

Documentation is notes in the program on how various parts of code operate is included within the source code as comments. It is often combined with meaningful variable names with the intention of providing potential future programmers a means of understanding the workings of the code.

Evaluation is a way of see if the program is fit for purpose they compare the program with these 6 statements

Correct
Maintainable
Reliable
Portable
Efficient
Robust

Correct is if the program is free of most bug
Maintainable is does It have meaningful variable names and internal commentary
Reliable is does it come out with the same answer every time
Portable is can it work on other computer not just the one it was made on
Efficient is does it use more ram or processing power than needed
Robust can it deal with extreme data well and not crash on weird inputs

Maintenance is the process after the program is made. There are three types of maintenance:

Corrective
Prefective

Corrective is any bug that come up after the program has been released to the client.

Prefective is anything the client want new to the program as in they want bigger buttons for children to use the program or the print the answer or an auto save button but the client has to pay extra for this

Adaptive is anything changes like new os or new input or output devices that the program might not work with.

Debugging in real basic

Debugging is a process that finds and reduces the amount bugs in the program. In real basic there are tools you can use to debug. One is using break points

A break point lets you pause the program at one line and lets you see the value of all variables at that line of code. Then you can step though the program see where the program is going right or wrong.
